Rasa Box Acting is an acting tool intended for contemporary performers. Serving as a bridge between psychophysiology and expressiveness, the Rasa box exercise develops a conscious working relationship between the physical body and emotions, and the emotional-physical relationship of the performers to the environment and other performers. This performance tool uses the ancient Indian concept of the Navarasa, which include sringara (desire, love), hasya (humor, laughter), karuna (pity, grief), raudra (anger), vira (energy, vigor), bhayanaka (fear, shame), bibhasta (disgust, distaste), adbhuta (surprise, wonder) and shanta (bliss).
The workshop was facilitated by Felimon Blanco, who trained with Paula Murray Cole during the former's fellowship at the Theatre Training and Research Programme (TTRP) in Singapore. Cole developed the rasa box acting tool with New York's East Coast Artists. Hon. Roseller L. Ariosa , the Provincial Vice Governor of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur , supported the workshop.
